So, until further news about the future of Jason Bourne, some alternatives can still offer some similarly satisfying attributes. Further, the emphasis on hand-to-hand combat was revolutionary for Hollywood action. Its technology felt grounded, and its cynicism was sharp and intriguing. Bourne’s world balanced the implausible with realism unusually well. Still, fellow fans can find other spy thrills. Unfortunately, that extension of the universe was already rather messy, and strangely unwilling to focus on character development. Renner is a strange casting for the role, though it's clear he was cast because of his success in the MCU, as opposed to being right for the part.Fans of the beloved Bourne franchise are likely disappointed, with Treadstone abruptly canceled after only one season.

The movie is essentially a standalone film but relies heavily on the Bourne world, which made a follow-up incredibly difficult. Shearing (Rachel Weisz) he remembers his past but must find a way to make his intelligence permanent, lest they be captured and killed by Byer. Like Bourne, Cross was declared dead in his previous life and has no memory of it.
